Situated in a tranquil rural setting with stunning views over the Camel Valley and surrounding countryside, you can really get away from it all here at Trenarlett and truly relax. We have the best of both worlds, set in such a beautiful and quiet spot, and with that 'off the beaten track' feel, yet we are very easy to get to, being less than 10 minutes off both the A30 and A39, and are well placed for visiting all that Cornwall has to offer.
Set privately in your own wing of the farmhouse with your own stairs and lovely views, sleep soundly in the super-king size bed (can be a twin or triple room if required*). Indulge in the pacious modern en-suite with double-ended bath (room for 2 + a bottle of fizz!) and separate large walk in shower. Timing for delicious home-cooked breakfasts is flexible and we can cater for vegetarians or special diets and prepare packed lunches with prior notice. Visit Britain have awarded us a 4 star Silver rating so you can be assured of our high standards.
For your convenience, access to our large sunny breakfast room is available throughout the day and evening. Equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, toaster, microwave, sink, crockery, cutlery and glassware, you may fancy bringing in a take-away supper, cream tea, or perhaps having a late DIY continental breakfast.
Regrettably we cannot allow dogs in the Farmhouse Suite. You are however encouraged to bring them if they are happy to sleep in the car and they are welcome in other areas. You have 24 hour access to your room, with keys to outside doors so can come and go any time for your/their convenience!
The wilds of Bodmin Moor are on the doorstep for lovely walks
, as are miles of quiet lanes and countryside, and we have three pretty villages (St Tudy, Blisland and St Breward) all within 2 miles, each with great local pubs
and village shops for your day to day needs. Walking and salmon & trout fishing may be available on our banks by arrangement in season (you will need a rod license) and there is an excellent riding stables
nearby with hacking straight out onto the Moor for both beginners and experienced rides.
For flat but scenic walking and cycling you could try the Camel Trail
, accessed just at the bottom of our land, from where you can reach Padstow if you’re feeling energetic and even try Rick Stein
’s fish and chips as you’ll have worked them off! In fact, why not drop in at the award winning Camel Valley Vineyard
on the way back for some liquid refreshment!!
Nearby, Pencarrow House
and National Trust estate Llanhydrock
are two of many properties and gardens in the region open to the public. You can visit the museum or take in the Courthouse
experience in Bodmin - maybe get sent down to do some time in the old Jail
, or stick to the right side of the tracks and take a ride on the old steam railway
If you fancy a knock at Doc Martin’s door then Port Isaac
is just 20 minutes’ drive away, as are Tintagel and Boscastle, great surfing
at Trebarwith and Polzeath or just a walk along the huge beach at Daymer Bay. Lively Wadebridge, just 15 minutes away, is the local town, with Padstow and Newquay just a little further and Bude, Eden, Helligan, Mevagissey, Looe, Lands End, St Ives, The Lizard or anywhere you think of really, are all an easy day trip from here.
There are many more active attractions available for families and adults alike, such as adventure parks with rides and animals, 10-pin bowling, Go-Karting, Cinema, surfing, body-boarding or adrenalin junkies can try coasteering or even death drops into an old quarry
There is something for everyone, all year round and whatever the weather, so no matter if you have been hooked long ago and are already a regular visitor to Cornwall, or if you're a first timer, you are sure to return time and again to this wonderful county and we really do make the perfect base from which to explore. We look forward to welcoming you to Trenarlett soon!
